Maple wood, a wallflower,
A simple insight with such power.
Rich sweetness, surrounded in the sour.
Profundity unfolding, on the tip of my tongue,
I go for the dive, only to plunge.
A towering ladder, potential untapped,
and yet I cower and turn my back.
A drop from the sun before I fold.
It burns the pain into pure gold.
A slice of wisdom to make me bold.
A dose of love, the kingdom foretold.
Joy courses through me, A beauty reborn.
Replacing the rags, tattered and torn.
Elevation season, everyone learns.
And one by one, each leaf returns.
Until the tree that I am is birthed to life.
Soon, the fire no longer burns but ignites.
The birds in my heart take their flight,
rising high joining dark to the light.
And all at once, I’m fully contrite.
Every fragment is complete and united.
And every wrong has been requited.
Each system within, in perfect communion,
Like one big happy family reunion.
And just like that,
I love what’s in me.
