New Ground

Posted on May 3, 2022May 3, 2022

I started to bloom in a new way today
It’s funny. Something so unexpected to me.

An epiphany that continued to tickle me,
As I bushed my teeth, I saw it twinkling playfully.

How sweet. I see you little me.
I remember that conversation unfolding.

Seven years old and wondering, where I might be,
when I become who I’m becoming. So much fun, imagining.

A game of peekaboo between past versions I’ve belonged to.
How wonderful of each of you. To go through what you did to get to me.

I find myself blushing, so silly, you must really love me.
I spit the remnants into the sink, still looking into the eyes reflecting.

Well, here we are... I picture myself kicking the dirt with a foot, nervously.
So what do you think? I’m grinning through my current teeth.

But it’s ‘little me’, I’d know that smile anywhere,
There is mischief about me. Better than anything I could have ever believed.

The tears welling are genuinely happy.
The latest gift to me from little me.

I plant the seed for future gathering.
